A huge part of launching your business is simply getting the word out. When money is tight, that often means relying on word-of-mouth, making in-person sales, and leaning into good old-fashioned networking to build momentum.
Here are my top three tips for getting out there and generating cash flow:
1. Show Up Everywhere – Say yes to community events, local meetups, and networking opportunities. Visibility builds credibility.
2. Leverage Your Customers – Ask happy customers for referrals and testimonials; they’re your best (and least expensive) sales team.
3. Keep It Simple – Don’t overcomplicate your pitch. A clear, quick explanation of what you do and why it matters opens doors.
And remember: none of this matters if you don’t have something to sell. Focus on your Minimum Viable Product and ask yourself, “What is the FASTEST way to get my TARGET CUSTOMER to pay me MONEY to solve the PROBLEM my venture is seeking to solve?”
