SMARTstart Entrepreneurs,
As we're in the midst of celebrating America's 250th year, it makes sense to stop and reflect that today marks the anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill. During the battle, Colonel William Prescott famously advised, "Do not shoot until you see the whites of their eyes." That advice wasn't just about courage, it was about discipline and resource management.
With limited ammunition, every shot had to count. The same rule applies to entrepreneurship.
Your cash, time, and energy are precious ammunition. Don’t waste them on long-range shots (big ad spends, premature hiring, or chasing every idea). Get close enough to your customer that you truly understand their needs, and then close the sale.
That’s how you win the hill without running out of powder.
Best,
Dan
